  • BMW unveils new 7 Series in Singapore, announces new initiatives for customers

The new BMW 7 Series has been unveiled in Singapore, alongside new initiatives covering servicing, warranty, as well as a new Excellence Club.

BMW Asia previewed the new seventh generation 7 Series flagship today, ahead of its official customer launch later this month. Along with the unveilling of the 7 Series, new initiatives have also been announced to further enhance the customer experience.

The 7 Series is remarkably similar to the i7 that was previewed recently, and that's because the cars are essentially the same, barring the different modes of propulsion.

The new 7 Series is distinctive for its large grille, split head lights, as well as the two-tone paint
The distinctive exterior of the new 7 Series is headlined by the large front grille, flanked on either side by the new split head light design. Large surfaces, a tall shoulder line, imposingly large doors and flush door handles help to create a real size of immense size and purpose, especially with the car viewed from the side. At the rear, slim LED tail lamps round out the distinctive new look of the brand's flagship sedan. And, just like the i7, the 7 Series is offered with the choice of a two-tone paint (a first for BMW).

Inside, the new 7 Series benefits from the latest technology that BMW has to offer, while still boasting top notch luxury and comfort. The curved display houses a 12.3-inch information display and a 14.9-inch infotainment control display running the Operating System 8.

The Interaction Bar is a striking feature is a high-tech and high-luxury cabin
Located just below the screens is the new Interaction Bar, what appears to be a gigantic light strip running across the entire of the front cabin from door to door. However, look closer and you'll realise that there are controls housed within - touch sensitive panels operate various functions including climate control, hazard lights, and even opening the glove compartment.

You might have seen the massive Theatre Screen on global press pictures, but Singapore buyers will unfortunately have to wait at least until next year to get it. Because it is powered by Amazon Fire TV (which is presently not available here), the 7 Series is currently offered without the Theatre Screen.

In 735i guise, the 3.0-litre engine produces 268bhp and 400Nm of torque
The new 7 Series will be first introduced in 735i guise, featuring a 3.0-litre in-line six mild hybrid engine that produces 268bhp and 400Nm of torque. There are also two trim levels available: Pure Excellence and M Sport Pro.

Along with unveiling the new 7 Series, BMW also announced a new initiative - the BMW Excellence Club. Available to new customers of BMW's luxury models (the 7 and 8 Series models), owners can enjoy unique experiences both driving and otherwise. These include overseas driving experiences, as well as culinary explorations too. Other privileges include a car spa, as well as an airport limousine service.

BMW's enhanced 5-year Extended Warranty and Service Inclusive Plus packages will be offered to all new BMW customers across the model lineup
BMW is also extending both its Extended Warranty and Service Inclusive Plus packages. Both have been extended from three to five years, and the mileage cap for the warranty from 100,000km to 200,000km. Additionally, the BMW Service Inclusive Plus package for five years is now a standard offer for all customers, with servicing that now covers wear and tear as well (not previously covered in the prior BMW Service Package).

Perhaps most significantly, these two enhanced packages are extended to all new BMW customers across the entire model lineup, so you don't have to buy the new 7 Series to enjoy these benefits. But if you are interested in the 7 Series, the official customer launch is slated for the end of October, with first deliveries expected towards the end of the year.

Stay tuned for additional information on these new initiatives, as well as official pricing on the new 7 Series.
