Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has announced that its Amarok pickup truck has received a five star safety rating from European crash test safety organisation Euro NCAP.
The high rating of the Amarok was attributed to the robust vehicle body structure of the pickup, alongside its multitude of modern assistance and emergency braking systems. Volkswagen additionally highlights that the car comes complete with knee airbags. The very good scores for the front and side crash tests with the Amarok were achieved in combination with the VW-specific child seats.
The pickup also achieved an 84% score in the 'Safety Assist' category, which tests the functionality and/or performance of a vehicle's driver assist technologies during normal driving and in typical accident scenarios.
