BYD has become the latest brand in Singapore to put itself at the forefront of the digital revolution with the launch of its very own smart app for drivers of the Atto 3. 

BYD says the app - simply named the 'BYD App' - will offer "a convenient ownership experience" by providing customers with a variety of previously untapped remote services. From their smartphones, Atto 3 drivers will now be able to remotely lock and unlock their cars, pre-cool the cabin, and monitor various components of their vehicle status (including its state-of-charge and remaining range). 

Drivers who tend to lose their bearings in a carpark will also find the app's vehicle location function handy. Clicking on the specific button will activate the cars' blinkers and horn simultaneously, thus alerting and directing you towards where it was parked.

Announced alongside the app's launch was news that BYD's DiLink operating system (OS), found in the Atto 3, would also be receiving exciting updates.

Among the latest highlights, the refreshed OS now features an enhanced in-built navigation system, which can offer live traffic updates and direct drivers to the nearest charging stations on the move.

'Smart Voice Assistance' in the Atto 3 also allows occupants to control various functions inside the car, such as retracting the car’s panoramic sunroof, changing the media source and adjusting the climate control.

Unfortunately, Sgcarmart can confirm that the BYD App will not be made available to drivers of BYD's best-selling e6. BYD Singapore has nonetheless teased that buyers of impending BYD models can look forward to using the app in the future.

The BYD App can now be downloaded from both the iOS App Store and Google PlayStore. BYD Singapore has also promised that more features are in the pipeline for its customers via over-the-air updates.
