The 10,000th Volkswagen Tiguan R (catch our review of the Volkswagen Tiguan here) has been delivered to its customer in the U.K. at a special race-inspired handover.
Retired British Airways employee Trevor Godfrey took delivery of his Tiguan R at Brands Hatch, which hosted 14 Formula One Grand Prix from 1964 to 1986.
He was given the opportunity to head out onto the race track in another near-identical Tiguan R, and after a few initial passenger laps with a professional driver, took the wheel to experience all 315bhp from the 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine of the SUV, and got to put its 4Motion torque vectoring system to the test.
Mr. Godfrey said of the unique handover, "It was a surprise when they told me that mine was the 10,000th Tiguan R and that a special event was being planned for the handover. I thought it would be at the dealer, but this is great. I guess I’ve had the luck of the draw, but I'll take it!"
