  • MG reveals design of upcoming Cyberster roadster

MG will be making a return to manufacturing compact sports cars with this Cyberster roadster, which is rumoured to get up to 536bhp.

After giving us practical vehicles like the MG ZS and MG 5, it looks like MG is now set to return to making small sports cars with the reveal of this: The MG Cyberster.

While the Cyberster name was originally used for a concept car that appeared at the Shanghai Motor Show in 2021, this MG Cyberster shown here shouldn't be far off from the production vehicle, with market launch of the model already scheduled for the U.K. and Europe come mid-2024.

The new two-seat roadster is said to pay homage to the much-admired roadsters from MG's rich heritage, sporting a long bonnet, low nose as well as the extensive use of curving surfaces. As you can see from the images, the car also looks set to get distinctive scissor doors, perfect for completing that mini-supercar package.

No official details have yet been revealed for the drivetrain of this MG Cyberster, although the word across the rest of the internet is that it will come with all-electric power, with the first entry-level variant offering 309bhp and the dual-motor variant offering up to 536bhp. Many are also expecting the weight of the MG Cyberster to come close but not exceed 2,000kg.
