The Cupra Tavascan electric SUV coupe can be had with 21-inch rims, a total output of 335bhp, as well as Deep Plum accents in the cabin.

Cupra has revealed the production Tavascan all-electric SUV coupe, close to one-and-a-half years since the first reveal of the Tavascan Extreme E Concept.

If you liked the Tavascan Extreme E Concept, then this new Tavascan sure to continue to appeal. Up front, the main highlight of production car is the fact that it has retained the triple-triangle light signature of the concept.

The Cupra Tavascan gets an illuminated logo atop its sculpted bonnet
These lights sit above bold air intakes to communicate the sporty nature of the Cupra Tavascan. Further up, the car also gets polished black A-pillars, designed to generating a panoramic effect similar to that of a racing driver's visor.

This suggestion of performance is also aided by the use of large rims, available is sizes from 19 to 21-inches on the SUV coupe.

In the cabin, the Cupra Tavascan gets a floating 15-inch central infotainment screen, the largest so far in a Cupra. This cabin also makes use of decorative copper accents, which combine with a mix of Soul Black and a choice of Deep Plum or Dark Ice Metal colours for the door moulding, central spine and other areas.

The interior of the car gets slim air-conditioning vents alongside copper accent pieces
Cupra states that the Tavascan will be available in two power ouputs. Utilising the Volkswagen Group's MEB platform, the first 'Endurance' variant will power only the rear wheels with 282bhp and come with a 77kWh battery that delivers a range of 548km.

The second, 'VZ' performance-oriented variant will put a total of 335bhp to all four wheels (that's a fair bit greater than the 295bhp of the Volkswagen ID.5 GTX). This Cupra Tavascan VZ will hit 100km/h in just 5.6 seconds and utilise the same 77kWh battery pack to deliver a total range of 516km.

The Cupra Tavascan will additionally feature Dynamic Chassis Control technology, sport suspension and progressive steering.

Designed and developed in Barcelona, the Cupra Tavascan will be produced at the Volkswagen Group's Anhui factory in China. It is scheduled to be launched in 2024, and Cupra is targeting an annual sales of 70,000 units.
