In the first round of bidding for May, Certificate of Entitlement (COE) premiums slipped across all private car categories despite the reduction in COE supply for private cars for this quarter. Despite this drop in premiums, COE premiums for Cat A are still above $100,000 mark, while premiums for Cat B and E still remain close to $120,000 after reaching record levels last session.
Bidders may have opted to bid more conservatively this session in response to the new reduction in COE supply announced for this quarter. This may also explain the reduction in the number of bids submitted across the categories for this session compared to the last.
