The Mira e:S is based on the Mira city car, and according to Daihatsu, the e:S features a raft of new or revised technologies, all of which aim to improve fuel efficiency. The Mira e:S is powered by a three-cylinder 650cc petrol engine that produces an output of 52bhp at and 60Nm of torque.
Daihatsu says that it has overhauled all existing aspects of the Mira’s engine, transmission, and body structure, to make the most of energy efficiency and as a result, says that the Mira e:S is almost 40 per cent more fuel efficient that current mini cars with engine displacements of up to 660cc.
The Japanese firm adds that the Mira e:S delivers a fuel economy of 30.0km/L on Japan's JC08 Mode test cycle, and 32km/L on Japan's 10-15 Mode test cycle. Pricing of the Mira e:S in Japan starts just under 800,000 Yen.
