Poseidon's land vehicle provider, Maserati, recently unveiled the new Quattroporte in a web reveal with minimal details on specifications. Rumoured to be 5.1 metres long, the car is almost similar to LWB versions of Mercedes S-Class, Audi A8 or BMW 7 Series.
Yet apparently Maserati is planning a LWB variant of the new luxury sports sedan measuring over 5,300mm long - which makes it just 99mm shy of the Rolls Royce Ghost. The extra dimension will be of great use for rear legroom and amenities such as reclining seat or massaging chair. But more importantly it gives the Italian elite club a proper limousine to be chauffeured around.
Considering the LWB version, we wonder if a 'security' version of the Quattroporte limousine will be conceived for dignitaries in the future. Either way, the diversification of the Quattroporte family could also include a wider range of engines to aid Maserati reach its sales targets in a rather failing economy.
