German poet and author Berthold Auerbach once said, "Music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life." While we may debate over the philosophical and ideological meanings of this phrase, it arguably neatly encapsulates the role and function of music in the driving experience.

Driving in Singapore, for the most part, is not the most pleasant of experiences. Recently released statistics from Aviva indicated that most car accidents in Singapore happen on Friday evenings.

This could be attributed to many factors, perhaps people rushing home from work, tired drivers from a long week of work, and maybe just the huge number of cars on our roads, which often results in traffic jams. Whatever the reasons may be, it's probably fair to say that driving in Singapore can be a stressful experience.

Having the right music in the car goes a long way towards relieving some of these frustrations or the 'dust of everyday life', so to speak. And of course, high-quality speakers go a long way towards providing that sense of serenity and comfort within the car. It is no surprise that more drivers are opting to upgrade their cars' speaker systems for better sound quality. For open, smooth and multi-dimensional sound, Pioneer has also developed the tweeters for the D-Series with ultra-lightweight Soft Dome Diaphragm.

This allows the tweeters to produce exceptionally open and smooth sound quality, with better reproduction of higher frequencies. In addition, the tweeter is designed with a larger rear chamber and rounded over flange, for extended frequency range and wider dispersion.

Convenient, fuss-free installation

The D-Series speakers have also been designed for easy, fuss-free installation. Included brackets provide for installation flexibility and wide coverage. The component package offers multiple tweeter mounts and installation adapters to fit in some of the most popular, top-selling vehicles. The woofer mount adapters is a universal mount plate that is pre-scored with the proper cutout lines to match the shape of the factory speaker in most cars.

Without compromising sound, the new compact crossover has been redesigned with high quality components, a selectable, plus or minus-3dB tweeter level switch, and in-line speaker leads. Small enough to fit inconspicuously in many doors, the crossover also includes speaker leads for the amplifier input and both tweeter and woofer outputs.
