If I could have one EV, it will be...

Owning an electric vehicle (EV) isn't as easy as you think. Route planning is necessary. Charging infrastructure is necessary. Driving with a light foot is necessary.
Are these considerations suitable for a cock-up driver like myself? No. Hell no.
But if I had the chance of owning one EV, and only one, it would have to be the Volkswagen ID. Buzz Pro. Why not the hot and spicy GTX, you ask? Well, simply because I'm getting on with age and the Pro offers colours that are more vibrant and vigorous. Mind you, these are important elements of owning a car, especially if you have the intention of driving the car for 10 full years.
I mean, imagine walking up to your car at the carpark and hating how it looks. There wouldn't be longevity. There wouldn't be happiness. I could say the same thing about marriage. Imagine waking up to your partner you can hardly look at every single morning... Divorce is inevitable...
Now, the Volkswagen ID. Buzz isn't something you'd get sick of. Spending countless hours with the bus/MPV/van in Hanover, Germany, it's hard not to fall in love. Like most vehicles, it's not perfect, I'd tell you that, but it comes really close.
In terms of driveability, it tracks curvaceous roads with absolute aplomb, with a sort of tidy and matured attitude many other cars cannot compete. Tip to tip, the ID. Buzz, in its long wheelbase (LWB) form, is still shorter than the BMW 5 Series Sedan, which only goes to show how easy it is when you travel fast around bends.
Of course, if you opt for the seven-seater (You can choose, five, six or seven-seater with the Pro) and you're ferrying your family, chances are you’d drive slow and steady. Driven thus, all aboard will not be disappointed with the car's comfortable disposition.
Apart from soaking up all the broken surfaces easily, the ID. Buzz also offers ample space, the sort that allows you to stretch your legs out if the road trip takes longer than usual.
Speaking of road trip, how nice it would be if I could bring the girls out for a family road trip. No Mama, no distractions, no fuss... All the quality time spent with my daughters as I drive along the highway, listening to them sing Taylor Swift songs. Sufficient space, generous grace and plentiful pace... The kind of holiday at its best.
Sure, some will argue that the 281bhp and 560Nm of twisting force just isn't healthy enough, but for a car that's meant to ferry your loved ones from place to place, it’s more than enough. I mean it gets from zero to 100km/h in just 7.9 seconds! Is that not quick enough for the kids?
Anyhow, the car is arriving in Singapore in mid-October. If my calculations are correct, it'll set you back over $300k, which is absolute madness. But take it from me, and that's not saying much, go try out the car.
