Transcend DrivePro 520 - Dual lenses for double the safety
01 Sep 2016|8,485 views
The world is a strange place and just about becoming stranger, peculiarly on the roads. From miscreant drivers and reckless bikers to carpark hit-and-runs and crazy road-roaming Pokemon GO players, it's safe to say a dash cam should be in every car in the event of a fender bender because it can prevent many legal headaches by recording the facts.
Eyes on the road and in the cabin
Made by leading global brand of digital storage, multimedia and industrial products Transcend Information, Inc., the DrivePro 520 is the company's latest creation.
Transcend has implemented the Total Quality Control concept throughout the company, and was the first memory module manufacturer in Taiwan - and the second in the world - to receive ISO 9001, ISO 14001, QC080000 and ISO/TS 16949 approval.
The DrivePro 520 is dual-lens dash cam, which provides drivers and passengers with optimum protection. It features a wide-angle, front-facing camera, which captures high-definition 1080p videos and a rotatable rear camera, which has four inbuilt infrared LEDs.
The rear-facing camera lets you record sharp in-car videos at night or in low-light conditions and is useful for the police, bus and taxi drivers, and others working in transportation. When low-light conditions are detected, the infrared LEDs turn on to enhance rear image recording, giving car owners and vehicle operators a higher level of in-car safety.

Simple operation
In addition to having a 2.4-inch display, the DrivePro 520's Wi-Fi system means you can operate it via a smart phone or tablet device -stream, download, and share videos on iOS and Android devices.
The DrivePro 520 also has integrated GPS (during an incident, the GPS helps precisely locate where you are so as to contact emergency road services, police, or an insurance company) and mandatory dash cam features like a Transcend 32GB High Endurance memory card, which can stand up to 6,000 hours of high-definition video recording, and a G-Sensor, which detects impacts and begins emergency recording mode.
This prevents overwriting of the recording made of the critical moments leading up to an incident.
Last but not least, the DrivePro 520's convenient snapshot feature lets you take photos while recording. During an incident, you can also remove the camera from the vehicle to make a record of damage.
