  • Alpine A390 undergoes handling tests

Prototypes of the Alpine A390 fastback SUV are undergoing dynamic testing at the Ladoux Technology Centre in France.

Alpine will soon see its lineup expanded beyond the A290 electric hot hatch and the A110 sports coupe.

The firm has revealed new images of its A390 five-seat fastback SUV as prototypes are getting their handling chops tested and refined at the Ladoux Technology Centre in France. Alpine states that the centre's 4,100m-long wet test track is also being utilised to test the two model-specific Michelin tyres.

Set to measure in at 4,615mm long, 1,885mm wide, and to stand 1,532mm tall, Alpine promises the A390 will retain all the dynamic DNA that the firm is known for while offering the space of a genuine five-seater.

The test centre is also being used to test the Alpine Drive Sound audio system, which is set to get two specific sounds, with the sportier of the two said to have been designed to not replicate the sound of a combustion engine. The second sound signature - designed more for daily use - will deliver less bass.

The Alpine A390 will make its world debut come 27 May 2025 via a livestreamed press conference.
