BMW unveils the new M2 CS

Fresh off the car's "design world premiere" at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este 2025 just a few days ago, BMW has now finally revealed the full details of the new M2 CS.
With any CS model, performance is expectedly taken to a new level. With the M2 CS, this means that the 3.0-litre inline-six engine now produces 523bhp and 650Nm of torque. That represents a 50bhp and 50Nm increase from the current M2. Power is sent to the rear wheels via an eight-speed M Steptronic transmission, with standard Drivelogic that can alter the shifting characteristics. This improved performance allows the M2 CS to break the four-second barrier, completing the century sprint in 3.8 seconds.

To make the M2 CS a more focused driving machine, the chassis of the M2 CS is lowered by 8mm, and features bespoke tuning for its springs, dampers and chassis control systems. The steering, differential and integrated braking system all have a model-specific setup. And of course, the M2 CS gets exclusive forged M light-alloy wheels finished in matt Gold Bronze (because every CS model must have gold wheels!). It's also worth noting that these are staggered wheels - 275/35 ZR19 at the front and 285/30 ZR20 at the rear. An ultra-track tyre and a standard sport tyre (a no-cost option) in the same dimensions are available on request.
The M2 CS also carries over many of the operating concept functions from the standard M2. The Setup button on the centre console allows the driver to directly access setting options for the engine, standard adaptive M suspension, M Servotronic steering, integrated braking system, and the ten-stage M Traction Control function. This allows the driver to set individual intervention thresholds for wheel slip limitation, all of which can be tracked with the M Drift Analyser that can show the angle and duration of drifts. For those less-inclined to quickly destroy their rear tyres, the M Track mode can work in conjunction with the M Laptimer to help further push the limit on track days.
Distinctive design elements on the M2 CS include the ducktail spoiler integrated into the carbon boot lid, as well as gold alloy wheels
Another important aspect of improving performance is by reducing weight, and the M2 CS manages to shave about 30kg through extensive use of carbon fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP) components, including the roof, wing mirror caps, rear diffuser, front splitter, and the boot lid. Of note, the boot lid features an integrated ducktail spoiler, which not only helps with the car's aerodynamic performance, but also presents as perhaps the most distinctive design element of the M2 CS.
Expectedly, the cabin is also full of carbon components, including the bucket seats, and trim elements on the dashboard and centre console. Standard equipment include two-zone automatic climate control, comfort access, the Harman Kardon Surround Sound System and BMW Live Cockpit Professional, with M-specific displays. Powering the infotainment functions is the BMW Operating System 8.5.
As with any special edition model, the new BMW M2 CS will be produced in limited numbers. While no specific number has been given, Sgcarmart understands that the production period of the M2 CS will be 12 months, with total volume expected to be similar to other CS models.
