BMW M2 CS celebrates "design world premiere"

Ahead of its full reveal, BMW has provided a first look at the upcoming M2 CS, which is celebrating its design world premiere at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este 2025.
And we're not exaggerating when we specifically say design world premiere. Accompanying photos of the car on BMW's official site, for now, is a brief two-liner: "Further images for media use are now online. The official communication launch of the vehicle, including all technical data, will take place on 28 May 2025, 00:01 CEST."
Nonetheless, these first images already seem to hint at the sorts of upgrades we've seen from other BMW M cars that have gotten the CS treatment of late, including the M3 CS and M3 CS Touring. These include lightweight forged rims, as well as a bespoke interior accents.
And while the images don't indicate that the M2 CS will be getting exposed carbon fibre on its bonnet (like the M3 CS and M3 CS Touring), they do point to the car getting a rather unique and pronounced ducktail spoiler.
Updated mid-2024 with a bump in power, the standard M2 is already quite the firecracker. Underneath its long hood lies a 3.0-litre straight-six engine that puts out 473bhp and 600Nm of torque - enough to send it from 0 to 100km/h in 4.2 seconds (when opted for with the eight-speed M Steptronic transmission). It's likely that the M2 CS will best these numbers with an uptuned iteration of that straight six.
More details will be revealed in just a couple of days, when the M2 CS celebrates its proper world premiere.
