Cat A COE - Undoing last session's climb

Premiums for Cat A, for cars up to 1,600cc in engine capacity and with an output of no more than 130bhp, fell this session undoing last session's climb. Premiums for the category dropped by $2,900 (4.1%), to end at $68,001 this session.

This latest drop sees premiums for the category now standing at 22.4% above the 12-month trailing average, and at the 79^th percentile of the premiums from the last 12 months. The number of unsuccessful bids this round exceeded the available quota by 31%, lower than the 12-month average of 44% for the category.

Cat B COE - Climbing back above the $95,000 mark

Premiums for Cat B, for larger cars with more than 130bhp or engine displacements larger than 1,600cc, climbed this session, rising by $3,799 (4.1%) this session to reach $95,889.

This second climb in premiums for the category has brought the current price to 26% above the 12-month trailing average. Premiums for the category now rest at the 89^th percentile of the 12-month average.

The total number of unsuccessful bids this round exceed the quota available by 34%. The 12-month average figure for this category is currently 41%.

Cat C COE - A small climb this session

Premiums for Cat C, for goods vehicles and buses, rose this session, climbing by $611 (1.2%), to close at $51,501.

The number of unsuccessful bids this round exceeded the available quota by 114%, higher than the 12-month average for this category of 98%.

Cat E COE - Also climbing above $95,000 this session

Cat E, the open category, climbed this session by $4,789 (5.3%) this session, bringing the premium for the category to $95,901.

This climb means current premiums for the category are now at 21.8% above the 12-month trailing average, and at the 84^th percentile of prices over the last 12 months.

The number of unsuccessful bids this round exceeded the available quota by 62%. The 12-month average for this figure for the category is 64%.

Prevailing Quota Premium
