The first of the limited run of Jaguar C-Type Continuation cars has been built, finished in a Pastel Green inspired by the Reims Grand Prix-winning original.

Jaguar Classic has announced that it has completed building the first example of the C-type Continuation.

The strictly limited production run is well underway at Jaguar's Classic Works in Coventry, U.K., and the first vehicle has finished shakedown testing ready for delivery to an excited customer.

The first example of the C-type Continuation series sports a Pastel Green exterior inspired by the original Jaguar C-type that won the 1952 Reims Grand Prix
Finished in Pastel Green with Suede Green leather seats, this first car is inspired by the original Jaguar C-type which won the 360km long, 50-lap sports car race at the Reims Grand Prix Meeting on 29 June 1952.

Each C-type Continuation will undergo at least 402km of physical testing by Jaguar Classic engineers, following a build process that requires 3,000 hours of intensive and highly skilled craft.

Every continuation car is also said to be crafted using the same build methods and techniques as would have been employed on the original, in order to honour the delineation of the original C-type.

If you're somehow looking to get your hands on one yourself, there's good news: You'll be able to book your slot of the limited run of cars now, and can configure yours on Jaguar Classic's 3D visualiser here.

Each continuation car will get a 3.4-litre straight-six engine with triple Weber carburettors for 220bhp
A total of 12 exterior heritage colours will be available for you to choose from, including the Pastel Green of this car, British Racing Green and Pastel Blue with contrasting roundel, while a range of eight leather hues will be offered, alongside the opportunity to select their own interior specification.

The Continuation models are FIA-approved and eligible to participate in all FIA Historic events, including the Jaguar Classic Challenge, which takes place at a variety of different racetracks including Le Mans and Silverstone.
