Jaguar Type 01 prototypes take on the Monaco circuit

Jaguar has revealed that its Type 01 prototypes - sporting a distinctive new wrap - have raced laps around the historic Monaco circuit ahead of the E-Prix on 16 May 2026.

The luxury, four-door GT's development has been directly enhanced by technology proven on track by Jaguar TCS Racing, the World Championship winning all‑electric team.

The Type 01's instinctive responses are fine‑tuned using learnings from Jaguar TCS Racing's all‑wheel drive control software and fast‑switching silicon carbide‑powered inverters, making the Type 01 a truly composed yet powerful modern GT.

Regenerative braking, range, and fast‑charging capability are also enhanced on Type 01 by technology developed on track.

As far as design features go, the Type 01 name appears on the strikethrough motif where the bonnet meets the windscreen. Bold linear graphics. A signature of future Jaguar.

Jaguar has said that the production model of the Type 01 will be revealed later this year.
