Lotus Emeya achieves record charging session

Lotus has announced its first electric hyper grand tourer, the Emeya, has achieved a record-breaking charging time using the public charging network.
The Lotus Emeya charged from a 10% to 80% capacity in 14 minutes, using a 400kW (600A capable) direct current fast charger, a feat which Lotus states, makes it one of the fastest charging electric vehicles available today.
The car is said to achieved a peak charging power of 402kW and averaged a charging power of 331kW. Combined with its WLTC energy consumption of 5.3km/kWh, this means the Emeya can gain up to 310km of range in just 10 minutes of charging.
Lotus owners now have access to over 700,000 public chargers across 30 European countries in the U.K., Germany, and France via the Bosch charging network. The firm has also revealed in November 2023 its suite of commercial charging solutions which include an ultra-fast 450kW DC charger, power cabinet and a modular unit for charging up to four vehicles at once. It uses leading liquid-cooled technologies to improve the efficiency and reliability of charging, in order to make it to make it easier and quicker for electric vehicle owners to charge their vehicles.
