NEL train delay caused by student trapped between train and platform

The Straits Times reported that a student had her leg trapped between an MRT train and the platform at Hougang MRT station on Wednesday morning.

The incident led to delay along the North-East Line (NEL).

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) was called for assistance at about 7:50am. A spokesman said that commuters at the scene had helped to pull the student's leg out of the gap before the SCDF arrived.

The student suffered bruises on her leg and was taken conscious to Tan Tock Seng Hospital.
