Nissan has revealed the new Z NISMO.
Targeting those that want yet more excitement and dynamic performance out of their Nissan Z, the Z NISMO comes with a raised power output, alongside revised aerodynamics and stiffened suspension.
On the exterior, the front of the Nissan Z NISMO gets a new 'Grand-Nose', which extends further forward than on other grades of the Z - a nod to the Nissan Fairlady 240ZG.
The grille of the Z has also been restyled for the Z NISMO, here now sporting a new opening with the thinnest honeycomb mesh in any production Nissan. A red accent along the lower edge of the front fascia has also been added for the Z.
At the rear, the car gets a larger rear spoiler, which now takes shape as a three-piece item that extends onto the rear fenders. Nissan states that the rear bumper corners of the Z NISMO have also been reshaped, inspired by the GT-R NISMO, for reduced aerodynamic drag. The use of a red accent along the lower edges also continues at the rear.
A black painted roof, the use of a dark metallic grey design element above the window line, and 19-inch gloss black wheels finish off the design touches of the Nissan Z NISMO.
Power for the sports coupe comes courtesy of a twin turbo 3.0-litre V6, although the total output has been raised by 19bhp to a total of 414bhp. Peak torque, meanwhile, caps out at 520Nm (45Nm more than the Nissan Z). An enhanced engine oil cooler has additionally been added to this engine.
This engine is paired to a nine-speed automatic transmission that has been retuned and given a revised clutch pack to deliver reduced downshift times. A new 'Sport+' drive mode has also been added for the Z NISMO to better utilise this upgraded transmission on the circuit.
Speaking of which, the Z NISMO also gets a host of handling upgrades which include stiffer springs, and retuned dampers. These will pair with the upgraded Dunlop SP Sport Maxx GT600 tyres, which measure 10mm wider than those equipped on the Z Performance.
Nissan states that the chassis of the Z NISMO has also been upgraded with additional bracing for a 2.5% increase in torsional rigidity compared to standard grades of the Z.
The cabin of the Nissan Z NISMO gets Recaro seats finished in a combination of leather and Alcantara, with a red centre section and NISMO logos in the headrests. The car also gets a different steering wheel, which also is upholstered in leather and Alcantara, and comes complete with a red band at the 12 o'clock position.
The 2024 Nissan Z NISMO will go on sale in the U.S.A in the third quarter of 2023.
