The Straits Times reported that an SMRT bus broke down at the Bukit Panjang Road entrance into the Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE) during the morning rush hour yesterday. This brought Thursday morning's peak hour traffic on the BKE in the direction of the Pan Island Expressway (PIE) to a standstill.
Commuters caught in the jam were seen alighting from buses and walking away. The bus was later removed. Investigations are ongoing.
