Eurokars Group and Eurokars EV (MG Singapore) have banded together with Specialized Singapore (a brand specialising in bicycles) to support the Specialized Mavericks' charity ride for Tour de Cure, a global initiative dedicated to raising vital funds and awareness for cancer research.
On 2 April 2026, at three in the morning, Wilfred Diepeveen and James Guardino of the Specialized Mavericks (a locally-based cycling team) set off from the MG showroom in an attempt to cover a distance of more than 900km, from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur, in support of this cause.
All smiles as both Diepeveen and Guardino of the Specialized Mavericks began their journey, starting from the MG showroom
Guardino, the 2024 National Masters Road Race Champion and 2025 National Masters Criterium Champion, completed the 420km leg from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur in honour of his father, who is currently undergoing chemotherapy. Meanwhile, Diepeveen - the 2023 National Masters Road Race Champion and 2025 National Masters Gravel Champion - intended to complete the full journey, including the return leg.
Unfortunately, on the return leg (and 477km into his journey), he met with an accident as a result of a speeding motorcyclist's errant and illegal overtake. Rest assured though, that Diepeveen is doing well.
Although the trip ended rather abruptly, the community gathered at the MG Singapore showroom to mark the completion of a mission where every single pedal stroke brought them closer to a cure
Specialized Singapore also ensured that the riders were equipped with the best equipment possible, including the S-Works Roubaix SL8 bicycle, which is currently on display at the brand's store - Specialized Figaro - and will see a portion of its sale go directly to Tour de Cure.
This journey then concluded with a gathering at the MG Singapore showroom, where the community came together to mark the completion of a mission where every single pedal stroke brought them closer to a cure.
