Subaru has revealed a new performance-focused BRZ tS to challenge the Performance Package-equipped Toyota GR 86 revealed just a month ago.
Unveiled at Subiefest California, the uprated Subaru BRZ tS is distinguished from the regular BRZ by its Crystal Black Silica mirrors and roof antenna, alongside the 'tS' badging that appears on the front grille and on the rear decklid of the car.
The tS will be offered in the U.S.A in all colours for the 2024 BRZ model line, all of which come paired with 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels in dark grey finish. Fans of the blue on gold colour scheme will, however, be glad to note that the Subaru BRZ tS comes with four-piston front callipers, and two-piston rear callipers, both painted in gold and courtest of Brembo.
And supporting these brakes are STI-tuned Hitachi dampers at the front and rear, as well as Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres, for superior grip.
In the cabin, the BRZ tS comes with performance-design front seats complete with height-adjustable head restraints. These also comes with tS-exclusive blue stitching on their bolsters, and a blue leather accent down the middle. The car also gets a red starter button with the STI logo, and its customisable 7.0-inch instrument cluster also gets tS-exclusive red accents.
The tS retains the 2.4-litre 225bhp naturally aspirated engine of the regular BRZ, although here only the six-speed manual transmission is offered. The car is further set to be the first car equipped with a manual transmission from Subaru to come with the firm’s EyeSight Driver Assist Technology.
The Subaru tS will reach Subaru retailers across the U.S.A by early 2024.
