This car is not bad, mid range pick-up, mid range speed, enough for a family of 4 to 5. Boot space just enough for few days camping trip.
Not too bad in looks too...

Got my car few days ago. Surprise me that the car had extensive standard features. The handling is good and lady like me feel no difficulties handling the car. Fuel consumption is fairly impressive too.

Recently I went to Chery showroom to test-drive the Chery A1 car. Initially, my thought of this non-impressive small car. When I make a request to test-drive the car from the friendly salesgirl, it was an eye-opener to this China-made car.
The interior design is not as bad as I initially thought. It is quite nicely designed. The seat is comfortable and I really enjoy the ride.
The overall performance of this car is not just satisfactory but also impressed me a lot, for a value-for-money car of this car range.
I would like to recommend those people who are looking for an affordable and comfortable car to give this car a chance to prove that our thought of this China-made car is not as bad as what we think they are.
Cheers to Chery...

Just bought this Chery A1 2 months ago. Easy car to handle for gals. Good price and with good function except they do not have auto gear for A1.

This is a great car. Not for racing with a wrx but a car that do just what it is supposed to do: transport me around. I like the European design. and the distance indicator for parking that is visible in my rear mirror so I wont have to keep turning my head if it was in front of me. The interior look classy with the colors and like fabric seats look very fashionable. have been driving an A1 for 8 months and I have no complains. But the engine only perform better at high speed like ~80km/h. Noisy insulation is also alot better than I had expected.

I think this is the best vehicle of all times.
Firstly with fuel being more less-than-affordable lately, I don't wanna press so hard on my accelerator so hard anymore. So that makes the A1 coming with a manual gear to slide down a slope very economical.
Secondly, oh the interior, it's nice for a price like that. My family of 5 can fit in nicely like nobody's biz.
Thirdly, the only downside is if you meet some crazy kukus on the road. They race you so hard that even with V-power, techrons, etc... you can't beat them with this engine. The only thing is the engine needs to be improved.
As for the rear end mirror, I haven't got one since I bought it but it comes with free rear camera. Nice!
Good work Chery!

Frankly speaking, I did a test drive rather than owning one. But would like to share my experience on it.
A first look at it in the showroom gave me the impression that the design is very "continental" rather than "Asia". Both the front and tail lights are very contemporary and nicely put together.
A test drive revealed that the gear changes are effortless and the gear stick falls into position just the way you'd expect it to be (rather than a "guesing game" on which gear have I engaged). The test drive vehicle has its clutch engagement point (a.k.a. "biting point") set a bit low, but it is just to my liking. I would reckon that this is adjustable to suit individual driver's preference.
Unfortunately the 1.3L engine seemed to be struggling to bring the car up to speed with the traffic. If this can be sorted out, I believe a lot more potential buyers will be convinced to sign on the dot.
Towards the end of test drive, the sales person introduced to me the reverse sensor display that the driver can see from centre rear mirror. This is something that surprised me: partially due to the fact that it is a good design (I prefer looking at the mirror for information pertaining to the rear rather than some 2-din screen on centre console); and that it exists in a car at this price.
In short, I would recommend this car to anyone who enjoys relaxed trips on leisure weekends rather than outdoor salesman who are constantly on the road racing against time.

Quite impress by the acceleration. Top speed a bit shaky. But price tag make you forget about it.
