Dongfeng Star Van

Well my company just bought it and we have driven it for a few days. We found out the following things. Engine has no power. Even with just two people this car struggle to climb minor slopes on PIE with 3rd gear at 60km/h! Aircon is not cold in day time. Some of the screws come out after a few day drive. High fuel consumption. No power steering. Car started shaking nervously once the speed reach more than 60km/h. So I am very surprise how LTA approve this kind of car on Singapore roads.... Read More

I had went to test drive the Dongfeng Star van and i must said it a van worth it values. The ups for the Star is that it has a very impressive interior which come with leather seat, and the last row of seat which can be fully fold up eventually created a lot of boot space. It also has a very clear view of the road when you are in the driver seat due to the height of the seat, and surprisingly the engine is not noisy as i thought. The downs is that this Star doesn't come with a power steering which may not be so friendly to female drivers, and it doesn't equip with much eletronic device too eg. the meters display are in analog rather than nowaday car which is digital meters. Overall i will rate this Dongfeng Star van a vehicle which is economical and it meant more for those who is looking for a budget vehicle.... Read More
