Turbodiesel with mazda brilliance
Although I have owned a couple of mazdas before the CX-3, i have never had the chance to try out a turbodiesel. The CX-3 JDM comes with a 1.5 turbodiesel engine, which puts out 270Nm of torque which is great for driving on our Singapore roads. I was pleasantly suprised by how powerful the car felt, comparable to a petrol 2.5l, and there was no diesel noise or knocking sound. Best part is, with the low diesel prices, and the great consumption, my fuel bill is now less than a third of what it used to be when driving a turbo 1.6. Handling wise, the car was also excellent, mazda cars always having a great balance between comfort and a sporty drive. A car that can be both driven hard through corners and used for sending the kids to school. The interior is leather wrapped and classy, with a heads up display for speed, and a touch screen interface. BLuetooth connectivity was simple, and allows easys treaming of spotify from your smartphone etc. Personally, i was first attracted to the CX-3 as the exterior looks one of the best in its class, with the blacked out side pillars. Only issue that some may have with the car is the interior and boot space are actually less than that of a mazda 3, although its being marketed as a crossover. All in all, the CX-3 gives good performance and has great styling and road presence. That it is a turbodiesel is a bonus, with very high fuel savings compared to a petrol car.... Read More
