The perfect blend of luxury and versatility
The 2021 Mercedes Benz E-class facelift might seem like very minimal changes, but it fixes the main problems faced by the previous generation.
Right off the bat, we are faced with new styling, on both the headlights and the taillights inspired by the A-class line-up. I prefer the previous generation styling better as there is more distinction between the C-class and S-class, but because of the similar components, a person who buys the E-class would not mind as it looks very similar and indistinguishable from the new S-class. Overall, due to the new headlights and more aggressive and slimmer front grille and side profile, the new E-class looks very sleek yet elegant.
The interior is what you expect from a 300k priced car. The interior quality is fabulous. You cannot find any faults with it, it looks modern yet maintains the image of prestige. For others, the touchpad might be hard to use, but I do not find any difficulties using it. Otherwise, the touchscreen is very responsive and smooth. It also comes with android auto and apple car play, which should be the no for a 2021 car. The seats are very plush and comfortable, and the space at the back seats is very generous. The only complaint is that the seats do not support as much thigh support as compared to a 5-series. The boot space is sufficient at 540 litres.
The drive is improved and more enjoyable than the previous generation. The drive is sportier and the steering is more responsive and slightly heavier. The suspension is slightly stiffer and sportier, which gives it a hint of sportier nature rather than a comfort-based car. I highly recommend the air suspension option as it elevates the ride to a whole new luxurious level.
The engine for the base model E200 is sufficient and easy to recommend as it is pumped up to 194 horsepower and 320 Nm of torque. This is sufficient for driving in Singapore as the 9-G Tronic gearbox makes acceleration smooth yet very punchy. It has a good fuel economy at 12.7km/L, which is achieved with the help of a mild-hybrid system.
Overall the Mercedes E class has lived up to the reputation of the go-to executive sedan as it provides the right mixture of versatility and luxury at a reasonable price. The facelift has made the E class a better and versatile car, which makes it very easy to recommend to anyone looking for a car in this segment.... Read More
Typical towkay Car
As usual, an expensive towkay (boss) car. Although not many head turn, the moment see an E-Class, 1st thing that strike their mind is rich man or family.
Car a little under powered. Engine noise kinda loud. When brought back to workshop for services, MB will volunteer to pick up the car or deevelopment.
