Regent Motors questionable warranty claims `
|
|
I bought this car and took delivery of it in Oct 2015. 10 days and less than 500km later. The left hand side running board dropped off. This is a part that is attached to the outside of the car much like the bumpers.
The agent Regent Motors won't honor their 5-year warranty claims. No reasons were given.
How could it just drop off?
Based on this alone, would you buy a car from them? What do you think?

The car is now at 12000km.
The drive gets better and better.
The +/- gear is great for overtaking
After fixing, all the electronics are OK. Must comment their subcontractor for fixing the problems without questions.
I have installed a car accident video system with them as a result... SMT TRADINGS at Sin Ming Industrial Park 1. Glad that they have been responsive and things are all ok now.
FORD FOCUS is a very very solid and truely underpriced car.
Fuel is at 1 litre to 11km now (60% city)

Update on Fifth Review last week `
|
|
This is an Update following my 5th review last week where I updated that all accessories gave problems within 5 months of new car delivery.
At the accessories workshop today, the reverse camera monitor was found to have malfunctioned and a new one replaced. I was told that so far, only less than 5 have been found to malfunctioned, out of many installed, and mine happens to be one of the
I note here that my parrot bluetooth in this car was also replaced after first day of installation.
IN CONCLUSION
1) Ford Focus is a great sturdy car (best 1.6 ever driven) except for engine that is underpowered. However, once it is at 40km, drive is a joy. At 1.6L, car is at Cat A COE
I think that the best will be a Ford Focus 1.6 T
2) Two electronic accessories all failed quickly within 6 months after installation by accessories spt of Vantage Motors. That was Not acceptable but they changed with new sets. hopefully all will be OK now
3) The sales person was the person liasing between an irritated customer and the VANTAGE MOTORS accessories department for these ridiculous failures. She had tough job (if every car accessory is like that) to handle.... but I felt she was very professional and cool about it.

Accessories falling apart within 5 months ... Unbelievable Vantage Motors. `
|
|
5th Review
My new FORD FOCUS Is now at 5500km and 5 months old
In the last 5 mths, these have happened:
1) BLUE TOOTH
It did not work on Day 1. I had to drive to workshop and get it fixed. Wonderful QC by Vantage Motors... to have faulty bluetooth on Day 1. Fine
2) Door Visors
The original door visors DROPPED OFF after 3 mths.
Sales Person replaced it for the front. Ok now... but back now no visors.
3) REVERSE CAMERA
It stopped working 1 month ago. Sales Person is probably very worried each time my number appears. Still waiting for reply
For each of above, I had to drive to Vantage Motors and waste time doing such little fixes for a Brand New FORD Car.
The 3 accessories all failed within 5 months and I wasted so much time, energy to get them fixed. The sales person is probably tired of my problematic car now but am I supposed to live with these Ridiculous failures in a FORD FOCUS bought new ?
Going the way Vantage Motors is.... my message to them is - customers are not so free to call, wait, drive down to fix their accessories subcontractor's mistakes.
Still waiting for repair of reverse camera. Unbelievable ! Never such nonsense in my previous new cars.
