Very Unreliable - Weak Performance, Cheap Interior `
We had one of these (2013 model). Cheap, rattly, creaking plastic interior when driving. Definitely not as well put together as a Japanese car. Passengers often complained of bad ergronomics, car sickness, and bad accesibility (esp to the 3rd row). For an SUV, it was embarrassing that it often scraped the front bumper "Skirting" On kerbs when parking head first. Where's all that height clearance gone? To drive up a kerb, one would need to go sideways by doing a full lock to get the front wheel to stick out and mount from there. Engine was weak, when I rev hard, instead of VTEC kicking in, all it did was to convert the petrol into more noise. My passenger friends kept laughing at me when I tried to rev. Petrol consumption was bad too - about 200+ to 300+ km/tank. Also felt weaker than a 2.0 Honda mpv of similar weight (1.5 tons). -Within first year, power window failed, wipers anyhow wipe, door seal popped off. -On 3rd year, power steering failed - leaked a red juice onto the street. Chevy repaired all that for free, but will never buy any American car again. They are cheap, but they aren't cheerful. Better spend more money and get a Japanese car, at least it won't rattle, have better interiors that are well pieced together, and cannot possibly break down ever, you will die before your japanese car does.

Average Car `
Tried Orlando and Captiva. Feel that power wise they are the same given Orlando is 1.4 with turbo though. More features than Orlando but still feel they are quite basic. Comparison might be unfair as I had driven X-trial before this. If compared to Outlander, it is definitely quieter.

The Chevrolet Captiva is the best Chevy to grace Singapore shores so far. `
The revised suspension over the first-gen car - stiffer springs - does sharpen up the Captiva's road manners, but the ride isn't as relaxed as it should be for a car of this class. Is this new one cool? No. Except maybe to Chevrolet Cruze owners. You can feel budget in the plastics, but this feels like a car to take on real life rather than ponce around in. Nothing to worry unduly about. No permanent 4x4 (Clutch is front-drive until the wheels lose grip and then the rears push) and the base model is front-drive only, but the Captiva is tidy enough. There's plenty of safe understeer if you push too hard and the suspension copes well with the roads, even if it is a bit soft. This car is superbly practical. Seven seats, masses of headroom. Worth noting that as with all seven-seat SUVs once that third row is in use, the bootspace drops from 465 litres to a teacup-sized 85 litres. So seven people or luggage, not both.

The NEW Cruzing Captiva. `
Had went for a test drive recently, the exterior certainly looks more muscular, which a full size SUV should look like. Inside is packed with ECOTEC 2.4L engine from its sister coy, Opel and bundles with their ECT gearbox... finally Chevrolet breaks away from its previous association with Daewoo. Inside, legroom was great to a tall person even to the 3rd row and its easy to fold up the seats to allow entry / exit but unfortunately there is no 2nd or 3rd row aircon like the Kia Sorento or 2nd row like most full size SUVs out there... GM should consider both 2nd and 3rd row aircon of this at a later stage where here can be pretty humid although Chevy's aircon is known to be excellent. Another one is the console which didnt incorporate what the Cruze LS has, the 7 inch LCD touch screen. Will be good to have that in the near facelift. Also, there is no keyless or push start button to consider. Then there is no both auto headlights and rain sensors available, just like other typical Asia makes....not sure why there is such a variation. I think GM need to look at this as its kinda a common thing to have both of them and push start nowadays. It will also make you different from the others too. The drive was good and the power to drive comes in fast when you hit the throttle, body roll was minimum too and long drives are pretty relaxed as there is the adjustable back angle where you dont need to stretch to the back, thus making back seats smaller... instead you can adjust the hips area in the seat to be more comfortable... am sure they are the only that thinks of this. Overall, if you dont mind the inside minimum features, this is not a bad full size SUV to consider where it gives you the power with 6 speed gearbox.
