Other cosmetic changes to the Captiva include a restyled bonnet as a result of the new grille, new door mirrors with integrated LED turn signals and all new side vents along the front fender, while there also a choice of new exterior colours and new alloy wheels.
Inside, there is a new 'dual-cockpit' dashboard, new materials for the seats, and ice-blue accent lighting. There are also new cup holders that can hold a 1-litre bottle in the centre console, where the parking brake would usually be, with the handbrake now an electronic system.
The engines have also been revised for the Captiva, with two petrol and two diesel units available. The diesels are 2.2-litre common-rail turbocharged units that produce either 163bhp or 184bhp, while the petrol versions are either the 2.4-litre four-cylinder with 171bhp or the 3.0-litre V6 with direct injection and variable valve timing which produces 258bhp. All models are available with either front or four-wheel-drive, and a choice of manual or six-speed automatic transmission.
Chevrolet has also tuned the chassis of the Captiva "to further enhance vehicle dynamics, improving cornering, roll characteristics and ride feel." These changes have not been disclosed in detail, but among the safety systems on the Captiva include Electronic Stability Control, Traction Control, Hill Start Assist and Braking Assist.
