The NEW Jeep Grand Cherokee - Sensible and Tuned down.
Dropped by to catch a glimpse of the new Jeep Grand Cherokee, prior to its official launch since was looking around. First impression a WOW that its trimmed down in size but still maintain its high 20 inches wheels. Now its a tuned down to 2.0L Turbo with 4x4, making it visible to consider for purchase, than its previous 2.4L, 3.6L or even a WHOPPING 6.4L Turbo generations, that only a small group of drivers can "Tahan" Its high capacity, fuel consumption and road tax to consider. Exterior looking (minus the front grill that is Jeep icon), design seems like a combination design of Kodiaq plus Range Rover. And its a larger sized SUV like a Range Rover. A higher vehicle paired with 20 inches wheels that I needs to "Hop" Into it. Interior is a class of luxury where all things are nicely flushed to the dash. Console is absolutely friendly and not cluttered like other conti makes that I have seen. What is visible is shown and given to you on screen, a likely American thinking. Many settings can be indivually turned off as part of "Personlization", from virtual cockpit changes, headsup display, console icons, to much more. Comes with lots of features into driving and safety than the other conti makes, like Rain brake support, hill start assist, full speed collision warning, speed power locks, front facing camera and ParkView backup camera. Another good thought of Jeep is the electric tailgate button is placed at the side in the boot than the conventional on top of the tailgate. Good thoughts indeed especially for shorties like me. Lolx. Also, 3 buttons individually to open the panaromic sunroof (they can be adjusted too). Drive off is quiet and gear knob is the round knob, similar from Land Rover or Jaguar which brakes disengage automatically too. Got to drive a longer route to see the capability and handling as a heavy 2.0L which is good and no laggy whereby turbo kicks in adequately in AUTO mode, then when in SPORTS, you can feel stiffen steering and suspension whereby it roars into life almost instantaneously. Manuvering this SUV simply has no issues as the sensors often reminds you when is close to objects or anything, being too sensitive but its a good to have in this large vehicle. Parking is also easy despite its size, once in R, mirrors auto tilt and adjust with the aid of cameras and sensors. Overall, a great SUV to consider than many others.... Read More
