I own the V40 cross country D2(diesel) for about 2 months now and i would say that despite it having such low horsepower but overtaking and acceleration is great. I was contemplating on the normal V40 but the normal one was just too basic. The seats on the volvo V40 are super comfortable and the noise insulation is great!! The icing on the cake is that one full tank is about $60 :D
Test Drove the V40 CC and V40
Was wowed by its beautiful stylish exterior. Arguably the most beautiful sportsback car in Cat A
For a little more, I would choose the V40 CC, with its moon roof and many extra features including lane diversion warning, better sound and leather etc
The interior like any Volvo is extremely comfortable, better than the BMW 3 and Merc 1 to C series. The ergonomics for the driver is excellent.
Was worried that the 115 hp is low but with the 270 torque, normal city driving is a breeze. During testing, on expressways, the acceleration is also excellent. Ride is smooth though at higher rpm, there is noise but must say the insulation for this model is fantastic. Just roll down the windows to make a comparison. Many say diesel cars are noisy but don't find this much different compared to the Volvo s60 petrol cars.
The back seat has decent space and leg room. Only the headroom comes a little short.
