I've own the facelifted 308 for a month now and I really love the looks and power it delivers.

Changing of gear is so smooth that I have a bad habit of looking at the tacho each time it hits close to 2K and watching the needle drop as the gear changes.

Shut the doors and start the car, you'll realise there's pretty good noise insulation from the engine bay. And because it's relatively quiet, there were occasions where I unknowingly exceeded the speed limits on the expressways.

The DRL never fails to attract attention especially in carparks. However, that can be switched off if you do not like the stares.

There's a 3 second indicator function for left right signalling. Good for quick lane changes.

Overall, it's a very nice car and I'm a happy owner!

What I like
Beautiful white meters.
Playing music directly from the iphone via bluetooth.
Making phone calls via bluetooth. The other party can hear you clearly as the mic is located in the middle at the top.
Lighted foot wells for the driver and front passenger.
Power is still delivered to the windows even after switching off ignition. This allows closing of windows (moon roof especially) if you forget to do so.
4 reverse sensors and the multifunction display gives a rough gauge on object distance.

What I do not like
No tilted side mirrors to assist in parking. But can make do with blind spot mirrors.
DRLs cannot be switched on/off spontaneously, have to do so at the multi function console.
Front grilles have rather big openings. Might not be a good idea as foreign objects may enter and break some parts during the drive?
The glove compartment is so small as half is occupied by the fuse box.

My first venture into Conti and Turbo car... Difficult but WTH... I guess u gotta start somewhere. Anyways, got a 2.5 year old sample with reasonable mileage. Was contemplating between this or the 06/07 A4 S-Line but decided to cap my budget. Saw 3 to 4 cars in the market and was surprised that 3 went off market within the same weekend. The ride was good; fell in love with most of the features and aesthetics that comes along. Stiff suspension, drinks reasonably, firm road holding, picturesque skyview during the evenings, and the list goes on... I'm letting it unravel by itself. Good ones only I hope.

What I like
You gotta drive it to feel it... Plenty to write. It's everything good so far and let's keep it that way.
1. Plenty of info on the dash computer panel
2. Firm road holding during cornering
3. Running out +ve vocabs

What I do not like
Stiff suspension.
Not the best rear seat but WTH, I'll drive my wifey's ride for family outings.
It gulps with increasing anxiety on the accelerator pedal.
Increasing speeding tix?
Plain tail vs estatic front grills

I recently tested the new 308 Turbo with the Aisin 6 speed auto tranny. It's a really fun drive. The new auto box is very smooth and the response is much more immediate at low speeds than the Golf's DSG which hesitates before working right.
It's cheaper than the mid range Golf TSI 122hp and nearly as powerful at the Golf Sport (156 vs 160hp).
Refined and very chuckable. Rear seat leg room isn't as good as a Golf but should be adequate for most. The big glass roof is great! Rear seaters have their own a/c vents.

What I like
The engine!!! Fast and quiet.
The front end looks. Rear is a bit ho hum.

What I do not like
The very plain head unit with no proper ipod connectivity.
Tight rear room if you need to put in a child seat- had to get the 3008 for adequate room for my family. But I prefer the way this car drives to the 3008...

First and foremost, if you have this car in your list of consideration, don't think further. Get it!
I have owned the Turbo for about 7 months and I simply adore it for its head-turning looks, punchy engine, superb stability, comfort and space. This is such a wonderful car to drive up North. At 110km/h, the car just begs to be driven at a much higher speed because every slight probe of the accelerator pedal will send the car reeling to about 130km/h, thanks to its 240Nm of torque! And because it's a quiet car with superb stability, i ended up travelling at 150km/h most of the time and occasionally doing 180km/h, because that's where this lion just wants to be! And along the twisties of rural parts of Malaysia, this car just rockz!
There is no other car in its class that looks just as stunning. Of coz there are cars out there with better dynamics from the German camps, but if you want to travel in style and exclusivity, this is the route you wanna take!

What I like
- Reliability problems? What reliability problems? No problems so far. Same goes to other fellow 308 owners.
- Strong punchy engine, especially at mid-range.
- Excellent stability at high speeds and corners
- Quiet at a cruise
- Wide and spacious interior
- 430-liters of boot space allows me to play ICE
- High amounts of grip
- Standard ESP
- Huge glass area
- Acceptable fuel economy of ~9.5km/L
- THE LOOKS!!! = Stares wherever you go

What I do not like
- Having a turbo-charged engine can be addictive that you just want to step more to enjoy the mountain of torque
- I get stares from people especially in Malaysia (even though they have the Naza 308 there)
- Steering judders on badly paved roads
- Too much glass area bakes the interior (Don't leave it out in the sun for too long!)

Have owned the 1.6 Premium for a little over 1 week now and absolutely loving it.

Design wise, the car is simply beautiful both inside and outside. Drive wise, it has good handling, very stable, good pickup as well. FC wise, it's still too early to comment.

Test drove the car recently as was looking around to get a additional car for my wife. The handling of the car was really good. Even better than some of the other german makes that I tested. very stable car and good comfort. the gears were very smooth too. Seriously thinking of getting this car. anyone here has any comments on this car? hope to hear your views b4 i get the car

What I like
Think the stying is one of the most sporty and stylish hatchback in the market. Went around to look for a hatchback but none caught my eye as much as this and the quality of the materials used are very good.
