Mercedes teases interior of next super sports car

Following the SLS AMG, the new Mercedes-AMG GT (teased above) is the second vehicle to be independently developed by AMG. While the exterior still remains to be clouded in secrecy, Mercedes has unveiled the cabin of the high-performance coupe ahead of its world premiere in the autumn of 2014 - most presumably during the Paris Motor Show in October.

A dominant aspect is an enhancement to the central 'aviation design' theme which is typical of Mercedes-Benz sports cars. The dashboard places an extreme emphasis on width, creating an impression of a powerful wing.
The design is supported by four central spotlight-style vents, complementing the individual vents at the extreme ends of the dashboard.
Other highlights include a large floating touchscreen display, a touchpad COMAND controller with multitouch gesture capability and a flat bottomed steering wheel wrapped in what we presume to be leather and alcantara.
While not a direct successor to the SLS AMG, the Mercedes-AMG GT is poised as a more 'affordable' offering to its bigger brethren. AMG believes the Mercedes-AMG GT will thrill sports car fans with a striking design along with supreme agility.
It is rumoured to be powered by a 4.0-litre V8 with different power outputs depending on the model.

Finished in a high-contrast combination of red and black, the quality and overall design of the cabin is nothing short of superior and sleek, as with the recent design ethos of Mercedes cabins, which includes the all new S-Class and C-Class.
