Audi R8 LMS Cup heads to Sepang

The Audi R8 LMS Cup is a leading sprint race series in Asia. Action-packed racing, continuous innovations and a premium hospitality programme have been exciting fans all across Asia. It is also the world's first one-make championship from the brand with the Four Rings.
2016 is the fifth season for the Audi R8 LMS Cup. The Audi R8 LMS Cup is part of the Audi Sport Customer Racing Asia programme. Organised by Audi China, Audi Sport Customer Racing Asia offers motorsport enthusiasts a full range of services, from sports car experiences to race license courses and race-ready Audi R8 LMS Cup cars.
The next race weekend is on the 13th to 14th of August 2016 with Race Five and Race Six.
After the races in Buriram, Thailand, just three points separate leader Alessio Picariello (MGT Team by Absolute) and Alex Yoong (Audi Teda Racing Team). Third place is held by Martin Rump (Champion Racing Team), who is just one point behind Yoong, making it a very close fight in the Overall Classification.
Over in the Am Cup, Jeffrey Lee (Team Audi Volkswagen Taiwan) enjoys a 30-point lead over Jing Zu Sun (Absolute Racing).
Specially for the Singapore media at Sepang, Malaysia, the Audi R8 LMS Cup will be making a technical presentation highlighting the features of the new Audi R8 LMS car, in light of the debut of the new Audi R8, which was launched in Singapore recently.
The Audi R8 LMS Cup uses the Audi R8 LMS, which is a GT3 car with more than 200 international race victories. Developed alongside the production car, the Audi R8 LMS boasts a V10 engine and lightweight, aluminium Audi Space Frame construction - the race car shares around 50 percent of its technical base with the production model and the benefits from motorsport are translated directly to series production.
