BMW has launched another BMW World event, with the theme 'Passion and Joy' set to open from tomorrow, 25th August, to 26th August 2018, at the Suntec Singapore International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Visitors will have an opportunity to experience the BMW and MINI brands like never before by seeing first-hand the latest models by both brands, getting up close with BMW heritage cars, exploring The MINI Story, or enjoying a variety of performances and interactive activities throughout the two-day event.
"BMW World of Passion and Joy is the motoring event of the year in Singapore as we aim to unite the past, present and future under one roof," said Christopher Wehner, Managing Director, BMW Group Asia.
"We are excited to welcome visitors to experience this unique brand journey through fascinating exhibitions, performances and activities that will guarantee lasting memories for all ages," he added.
A number of cars that are at the event call for attention. One of which is the new BMW i8 Roadster, which also happens to be BMW's first plug-in hybrid roadster. Based off the i8 Coupe, it promises open-top driving enjoyment whilst being sustainable, as it can be driven fully-electric up to a range of 50km.
Another cool car on display is the BMW M2 Competition, which is a higher-performance version of the M2. The characteristic M2 silhouette is now enhanced, as it boasts new M mirrors, a redesigned kidney grille, new M alloy wheels, M Sport bucket seats and an illuminated M2 badge.
The BMW 8 Series also makes an appearance here in Singapore at BMW World. The number '8' in BMW is reserved for cars the stir the most emotions, and the M850i on display certainly does with its striking lines. The highly anticipated coupe promises thrilling driving dynamics with its 4.4-litre twin-turbocharged V8 under the hood.
The new BMW Z4 also makes its first Asian appearance at BMW World, as it was only revealed yesterday at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance in Monterey, California.
However, the car with the biggest presence, due to its size, is the BMW Concept X7 iPerformance. When it goes into production, it will be the biggest car that BMW has built, and will sit at the top of all the X series BMWs.
Heritage BMW models are also present. Take a closer look at a select number of BMW heritage cars that have defined the BMW Group from as far back as the mid-1950s. BMW heritage cars include the BMW M5 (E39), BMW M3 CSL (E46), BMW 327 Sports Cabrio and the cherished Isetta.
The event covers two halls at the Suntec Exhibition Centre. Test drives are also available for selected BMW models throughout the event. Tickets to the event can be purchased through the official website here.
