  • All new Jaguar F-TYPE: An assertive expression of the Jaguar sports car

    03 Dec 2019

The all new F-TYPE has evolved into a purer, more sculpted and assertive expression of the definitive Jaguar sports car.

The new Jaguar F-TYPE looks more beautiful than ever and embodies Jaguar design DNA in its purest form.

Super-slim pixel LED head lights help to exaggerate the car's visual width and accentuate its assertive stance
The F-TYPE's award-winning design has been evolved further and now places emphasis on what Jaguar describes as greater purity and discipline to a perfectly-sculpted form.

The now super-slim pixel LED head lights have been updated to feature signature calligraphy-inspired daytime running lights, and sweeping direction indicators blend perfectly into the 'liquid metal' surfacing of the new clamshell bonnet, exaggerating the car's visual width and accentuating its assertive stance. A new front bumper and enlarged grille also aid in delivering visual impact and presence.

At the rear the haunches enhance the F-TYPE's inherently dramatic, purposeful form, while new slender rear lights combine an unmistakable LED chicane signature inspired by the Jaguar I-PACE all electric Performance SUV with subtle monogram pattern detailing and a fine 'pinstripe' beneath.

12.3-inch Interactive Driver Display also features software-over-the-air functionality, allowing updates to be received without visiting a retailer
The new F-TYPE also offers more driver-focused technology, including a reconfigurable, high-definition, 12.3-inch Interactive Driver Display, a Touch Pro infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility as standard and software-over-the-air functionality so future software updates can be made at the customer's convenience, without having to visit a Retailer.

Two superb Meridian sound systems also offer enhanced sound reproduction.

The interior combines traditional Jaguar craftsmanship with rich, contemporary materials such as Windsor Leather and satin-finish Noble Chrome. Beautiful details include monogram stitch patterns in the seats and door trims, Jaguar Leaper motifs in the headrests, and subtle 'Jaguar Est.1935' markings on the centre console finisher, glovebox release button surround, and seatbelt guides.

Rich and contemporary materials such as Windsor Leather and satin-finish Noble Chrome feature in the interior
Two engines are offered, from a 296bhp turbocharged four-cylinder to a supercharged 444bhp V8, while the F-TYPE R will feature the same V8 with its output raised to 567bhp and 700Nm of torque, allowing it to reach 96km/h takes just 3.5 seconds, while maximum speed is an electronically-limited 300km/h.

    An e
nhanced chassis and intelligent all-wheel drive system will allow the F-TYPE R to retain its inherent tractability and usability.

Customers who choose the 444bhp and 567bhp supercharged V8s benefit from a new Quiet Start function, which ensures a more subtle, refined sound by closing the electrically-actuated bypass valves in the rear silencer until they automatically open up under load. If desired, Quiet Start can be over-ridden by selecting Dynamic Mode or by pressing the switchable exhaust button before starting the engine.

The distinctive crackle and pop on the overrun synonymous with the F-TYPE will remain
The distinctive crackle and pop on the overrun synonymous with the F-TYPE, remains, with their sounds meticulously tuned to suit the range of powerful four and eight-cylinder engines. Highly efficient, close-coupled particulate filters reduce emissions.

The range of powerful, responsive engines are all matched to automatic eight-speed Quickshift transmissions that also offer full manual control using either the SportShift gear selector or the steering wheel-mounted paddles.
