  • Volkswagen T-Cross now available in Singapore

The long awaited Volkswagen T-Cross is finally here, offering buyers here another compact crossover to choose from.

The Volkswagen T-Cross has landed in Singapore, and is now available for purchase. Prices will start from $128,900 (as of 26 November 2020). From now till 9 December 2020, Volkswagen is also offering a $10,000 launch promotion for the T-Cross.

First seen at the Singapore Motor Show, the T-Cross is Volkswagen's answer to the growing demand for crossovers big and small.

The T-Cross will be the smallest crossover offering from Volkswagen here
Effectively a replacement for the CrossPolo, the T-Cross sits on Volkswagen's compact MQB-A0 platform, that underpins the likes of the current Polo, the Skoda Kamiq and the Seat Arona.

To put things into perspective, the T-Cross will be the smallest crossover available from Volkswagen in Singapore.

The other SUVs from Volkswagen here include the Tiguan and the Touareg.

And like the CrossPolo, the T-Cross still offers a cheeky charm. Buyers in Singapore who want to customise their cars can choose from eight exterior colour choices along with three design packages, offering a different theme both on the exterior and interior.

The T-Cross has three design packages to choose from that also changes the theme of the interior, as seen here with the 'Energetic Orange' package
The R-Line will be the only variant that will be available in Singapore. Aside from sportier exterior design bits, it offers a decent amount of infotainment kit.

Infotainment functions are handled via a 8.0-inch infotainment display that comes as standard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Along with it is a 300W Beats by Dr. Dre sound system, also found in the top-spec Polo Beats.

Active Info Display (Volkswagen speak for 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster), also comes as standard in this variant. It offers some level of customisation, allowing the driver to configure necessary information via the view button on the steering wheel, or through the infotainment system.

Power comes from the same 1.0-litre turbocharged three-cylinder found in the Polo
Power comes from a 1.0-litre turbocharged three-cylinder TSI engine that sends 114bhp and 200Nm of torque to the front wheels. It is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

From the get-go, there's a lot to like about the T-Cross. We've just attended a test drive event hosted by Volkswagen, and will be spending more time with the car in the next two days. Check out this space soon for our first drive report of the T-Cross.
