The new Polo GTI incorporates technology that guarantees comfort and safety, without compromising its hallmark sporty characteristics.

In April, Volkswagen presented the sixth generation of the Volkswagen Polo. The German automaker has since released its performance-oriented sibling: The new Volkswagen Polo GTI. The latest generation of assistance systems guarantee even greater comfort and safety, without compromising its hallmark sporty characteristics.

Like its predecessors, the new Polo GTI is front-wheel drive. The turbocharged, 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine transmits its power via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, which comes as standard. Despite the engine's relatively high output level of 204bhp, the engine is impressively efficient, boasting moderate fuel consumption levels.

The new Polo GTI now comes as standard with the new IQ.Light LED matrix head lights, an illuminated radiator grille bar, and daytime running lights. This sees the sporty new Polo form a stylistic link to Volkswagen's fully-electric ID lineup.

At the rear, newly-designed LED rear lights with animated brake lights and integrated dynamic indicators indicate a change of direction with flowing light movements.

The GTI-specific bumper gives the compact sports car an even more commanding and broader visual presence on the roads. The Adaptive Front Lighting System has been redesigned and now gives an even more concise lighting effect, providing brilliant illumination of the road and surroundings. The striking red GTI logo on the radiator grille, the honeycomb-shaped ventilation grilles, and the continuous red trim strip feature at the front of the car.

In terms of technology, Volkswagen's IQ.DRIVE Travel Assist will be used for the first time in a Polo GTI. The system can take over the steering, braking and accelerating of the new Polo GTI if needed. For longitudinal and latitudinal guidance, IQ.DRIVE Travel Assist incorporates systems like Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Assist.

The Polo GTI also untilises Volkswagen's latest MIB3.1 infotainment system, which is connected to various services online, ensuring state-of-the-art connectivity. Features like natural voice control and access to streaming services, in addition to wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto connectivity being offered.

As in the regular Polo, the driving instruments and the infotainment system are arranged on a visual axis. The Digital Cockpit Pro impresses with a higher pixel density, intense colours, and size - the screen measures 10.25 inches diagonally.
