    The BMW iX arrives in Singapore, sporting a new, trailblazing design on the outside, and a new operating system within.


    BMW Asia and Performance Motors Limited have announced the availability of the first-ever BMW iX, the BMW Group's new technology flagship, here in Singapore.

    The BMW iX will be showcased for the at this year's Christmas Wonderland at Gardens by the Bay from 3 December 2021 to 2 January 2022.

    Built atop an aluminium spaceframe that is reinforced with BMW's Carbon Cage, the BMW iX promises superb ride comfort and sporty handling thanks to high body rigidity and a low body weight.

    On the outside, the car sports a reduced design language, delivering imposing styling with muscular Sports Activity Vehicle proportions. An almost completely blanked-off BMW kidney grille incorporates the car's camera and radar sensors.

    In the cabin, occupants will find a flat floor without a central tunnel for extra legroom. The centre console has been designed in the style of a high-quality piece of furniture, at the front of which rests a control panel with feeler bars and active haptic input as well as a rocker switch for the gear selector.

    The hexagonal steering wheel is sure to be another point here.

    The BMW iX additionally comes with the new BMW Operating System 8, accessed here through a curved unit that groups a 12.3-inch information display with a 14.9-inch control display.

    The new operating system sports a new digital personal assistant that now boasts additional capabilities and uses a new graphic when communicating with the vehicle's occupants.

    There's also a new BMW 'My Modes' feature which can automatically adjust the ambient lighting and display graphics, amongst other settings according to the driving mode selected.

    The BMW iX is arriving here at launch as a xDrive40. This model is fitted with a 71kWh high-voltage battery which will power two electric motors at either axle for a total system output of 322bhp and peak torque of 630Nm. Range according to the WLTP cycle stands at 425km.

    The BMW iX can be charged via direct current at a maximum speed for 150kW.

    Total power output of 322bhp will see the BMW iX xDrive40 reaching 100km/h from a standstill in 6.1 seconds
    At this rate, the car's battery can be topped up from 10% to 80% capacity in around 31 minutes. The car's range can be increased by more than 95km in just ten minutes when it is plugged into a direct current fast-charging station with an initial battery charge of 10%.

    For home charging, customers will receive a BMW Wallbox Plus with a complimentary installation service. This wallbox is able to charge customer vehicles at a speed of up to 11kW.

    For public charging, customers will receive a subscription package of 10,000kWh for three years at Shell Recharge stations with no monthly cap for charging, which is equivalent to 50,000 km of driving range, assuming an average energy consumption at 5km/kWh.
