Auto Germany has launched the new Opel Mokka here in Singapore.
Previously available only for pre-order, the new car is now making a full arrival here on our sunny island.
The Opel Mokka marks the dawn of a new design era from Opel, which we first got a taste of with the latest update to the Crossland. As part of this new brand design philosophy, the Mokka now sheds its pudgy and rounded design for a chiseled and angular one, led by a vizor-like front that sits on the face of the new car.
The new front seamlessly integrates the Mokka's grille, LED head lights, as well as the newly designed Opel Blitz lightning bolt emblem into one eye-catching element.
And at the rear, the new chiseled look is also carried onto the design of the tailgate, as well as the slim and angular taillights. Here, you'll also find the model name appearing for the first time at the centre of the tailgate.
Short overhangs and a wide stance atop 17-inch rims meanwhile, do well to bring out the car's stout and bold image.
The crossover also comes with a 12-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10-inch centrally-mounted infotainmnet touchscreen The dramatic design overhaul has also been carried into the cabin of the Opel Mokka. Here, the designers have chosen to undertake a digital detoxification of the cabin's layout, minimising any sources of distraction for the driver by removing the use of submenus while retaining the use of physical buttons.
Top highlight here is the fact that the Mokka gets Opel's new digital Pure Panel, which integrates both the 12-inch instrument cluster and a 10-inch Opel Intellink touchscreen infotainment screen into one unit that wraps around the driver for an immersive driving experience.
The Opel Mokka is powered here by a 1.2-litre turbocharged engine producing 128bhp and 230Nm of torque. This engine is paired to an eight-speed automatic gearbox as standard, facilitating a zero to 100km/h sprint time of 9.2 seconds.
And at the other end of the car lies a 350-litre boot, complemented by a 60/40 split rear bench to offer all the practicality expected of a crossover.
Safety features including Blind Spot Detection, Cruise Control and Lane Keeping Assistance are all standard on the Opel Mokka GS here in Singapore.
