The handsome yet elegant looking Volkswagen Arteon has returned, now featuring a new updated design and improved equipment.

Volkswagen is introducing the updated version of its signature coupe-like fastback in the Singapore market in two equipment lines: Elegance and R-Line.

The new Arteon is a fastback with a coupe-style rear, combining head-turning design with high functionality and modern technologies. The Gran Turismo possesses a wide-opening hatchback-style boot lid which provides access to a generously sized luggage compartment, as well as a long, wide bonnet and frameless windows on its doors.

The Arteon in Elegance trim offers a more corporate look, focusing more on the elegant lines of the car
The Elegance trim offers a sophisticated configuration, while R-Line trim focuses on dynamics. Distinctive features include the front end with a new continuous light strip that connects the front head lights (R-Line), striking chrome bars, and new air intakes at the bottom.

The roof and window contours are swept down in parallel from the B-pillars and therefore become part of the coupe-shaped rear. All elements together form the sporty rear profile typical for a stylish fastback, complemented by 19-inch (Elegance) and 20-inch (R-Line) alloy wheels.

In the interior, the new Arteon impresses with a newly designed cockpit environment that lends it an even greater feeling of exclusivity. Operation has been made easier through touch sliders for the automatic air conditioner and a new multifunction steering wheel with touch controls.

The Arteon in R-Line trim possesses striking chrome bars and 20-inch alloy wheels to provide the Gran Turismo with a sporting stance
Also new for the Arteon is the now wireless integration of apps via App-Connect Wireless for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto via the 9.2-inch Discover Pro infotainment system in the Arteon R-Line. Wired integration of apps is available in the Arteon Elegance via the 8.0-inch Composition system.

Background lighting that can be adjusted in up to 30 colours is also available to give the new interior an attractive finishing touch. The new Arteon R-Line also features newly developed sports seats, a feature reminiscent of the iconic Golf GTI.

The standard Digital Cockpit Pro high-resolution digital display and available Heads-Up Display (R-Line) create a coherent digital landscape while providing the driver with important, customisable vehicle information at a glance.

The Arteon now comes with a high-resolution digital display and an available Heads-Up-Display
All occupants in the front and rear will benefit from Volkswagen's widely used modular transverse matrix (MQB) technology platform. The maximum legroom at the rear is 1,016mm and is a benchmark value in this class. As standard, the rear seat backrest can be folded asymmetrically.

Behind the rear seat bench is a luggage compartment capacity of up to 563 litres when loaded up to the rear seat backrest and luggage compartment cover. Loading the vehicle up to the front seat backrests increases the loading capacity to 1,557 litres. The load space has a maximum length of 2.09m (up to the front seats).

The new Arteon comes with a 2.0-litre engine which pumps out 185bhp and is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission
The new Arteon is available with a 188bhp 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol direct injection engine and a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. This front-wheel drive layout allows for higher levels of efficiency (claimed feul economy is 16.9km/L) as well as low emissions with a powerful torque output of 320Nm. Acceleration from zero to 100km/h in the Volkswagen Arteon takes 7.9 seconds.

A host of intelligent assist systems is also available in this avant-garde model line: Front Assist with City Emergency Brake, Side Assist with Rear Traffic Alert, Multi-Collision Brake, Proactive Occupant Protection System, Active bonnet (pedestrian protection system), and Park Assist with Park Distance Control.

The new Arteon is available in two equipment lines - Elegance and R-Line - at Volkswagen Centre Singapore from $229,900 and $241,900, respectively. Prices are inclusive of a limited-time $3,000 launch discount, valid until 21 September 2022.
