Volkswagen has revealed more of the fully electric Volkswagen ID. XTREME concept vehicle, which the German marque has used to show off the performance capacity and versatility of its modular electric drive matrix.
For starters, system power has increased by 87bhp over the Volkswagen ID.4 GTX for a total of 382bhp. This was done by means of a performance drive on the rear axle as well as software adjustments to the drive control unit. This allows the ID. XTREME to accelerate from zero to 100km/h in just 5.3 seconds.
The 87bhp increase over the Volkswagen ID.4 GTX allows the ID. XTREME to accelerate from zero to 100km/h in 5.3 seconds The ID. XTREME also features 30mm higher rally running gear from motorsport with 20mm wide track plates. This makes the ID. XTREME stable, agile and safe on uneven terrain. The 18-inch wheels with off-road tyres are covered flush by 3D-printed wheel housing extensions which widen the wings by 50mm.
The car's underbody is protected by a completely closed aluminium cladding. This starts at the front of the vehicle directly under the number plate, and also protects the 77kWh high-voltage battery in the middle of the vehicle as well as the rear section.
There are also internally blackened, powerful front head lights and lens frames in orange. The tilting panoramic sunroof allows for plenty of light into the interior.
Another special feature of the ID. XTREME is the customised paintwork. In addition to the concept-specific orange and the contrasting colour in matt black, there are repeated dark, dust-like traces on the light-coloured vehicle surfaces.
Grey microfibre fabric upholstery features on the interior of the concept. The front sports seats bear the ID. XTREME logo in the upper area, while all decorative seams of the vehicle seats are in the vehicle-specific accent colour orange.
On the rear bench seat, the centre seat has been removed in favour of a spacious, folding load-through hatch. The recessed seat shells provide support for occupants even off-road.
