Polestar has announced that a few enhancements are in store for Polestar 2 and future Polestar 3 owners. The additions are already on show at CES 2023.

For the Polestar 3, the all-electric SUV is now set to be the first car in the world to feature Google’s new HD map. The new map is said to offer highly detail and up-to-date road information. This map is also said to contain details normally not available in traditional maps, such as lane markings and road signs, a feature Polestar claims will be critical for assisted driving computation.

Polestar 2 owners will soon be able to check the charge status of their vehicle in their home, via a compatible Google Assistant-enabled device
Polestar, meanwhile, will be combining its sensor technology with Google’s precise lane-level and localisation data to further enhance driver assistance features like Pilot Assist, as well as future autonomous driving functionality.

For the Polestar 2, owners can now look forward to controlling their car remotely, so long as they have a compatible Google Assistant-enabled device within their home that is.

This new feature, already being rolled out in Volvo vehicles in selected markets, will allow owners to check the battery status of their car, or unlock the doors, all while within the comfort of their home. The feature is current scheduled to arrive in the U.S.A before being rolled out to other markets.
