The German European School Singapore Volkswagen Cup will be returning this year, after a three-year hiatus.

To be held from on 11 and 12 March 2023 at 2 Dairy Farm Lane, Singapore (677621), the competition is expected to see a total of 400 players from ages eight to 16 participating. The students will come from over 30 teams across eight schools.

Football runs deeply and historically through Volkswagen's DNA worldwide, with a rich history in the sport both on the big stage and at a grassroots level. Volkswagen owns VfL Wolfsburg and is a partner of numerous football teams around the world, from the German national and U.S.A women's teams to the Liga Suparimau in Malaysia.

The GESS Volkswagen Cup is happening from 9:00am to 2:00pm on 11 March 2023, and from 9:00am to 4:30pm on 12 March 2023. The matches are open to the public, although Volkswagen Singapore does advise that the total number of parking lots available within the school is limited and will be offered only on a first-come, first-served basis.

Those that head down, however, can expect to be treated not only to fast and furious football action, but will also get the opportunity to attend football clinics and freestyle football performances. And they will also be able to test drive models including the T-Cross, Golf, Tiguan, Arteon, and Touareg, all at the Volkswagen booth.

Visitors to the cup are also encouraged to upload creative content on Instagram and TikTok, and tag @volkswagensg and #WeDriveFootball on their posts. The three most creative content entries chosen by Volkswagen Singapore will win a Playmobil Volkswagen Beetle Playset each. Winners will be notified through Volkswagen Singapore's Instagram or TikTok pages.
