Citroen has announced that they will be bringing a new DSX concept study to the Shanghai Auto Show taking place from 21st April - 29th April later this year, in a bid to preview a possible SUV model for the market.
Based on the DS5 platform, the DSX is likely to arrive in production form in early 2014 in China first and then to Europe by end of the year. The car will be 4,700mm long and could be offered with gasoline and diesel engines, as well as in a diesel-electric hybrid variant.
The hybrid version will reportedly come with all-wheel drive with the electric motor driving the rear wheels while the conventional engine will motivate the front wheels.
In terms of specifications, the European version will be sold in a diesel-hybrid version featuring PSA's HDi 163 diesel with an electric motor. The diesel generates 163bhp while the electric motor offers an additional 37bhp for a total of 200bhp. The DSX for China will be expected to come with a 1.6-litre THP gasoline engine that produces 243bhp.
