As MT-10 is introduced, an electro-chemical reaction takes place, which develops an ionic bond with the low-lying surface regions. MT-10 then smoothens and seals metal surfaces, which significantly decreases friction and heat. The result is less wear and smoother operation of the mechanism without risk of build up.
The smoothening process of MT-10 is not to peel away the surface but to penetrate into the low and high-lying areas. The chloride component in MT-10 will gradually bond stably with a metal atom. The metal surfaces become smooth with the formation of the bond and repulsion between charges will help to reduce friction and wear.
