Alpine now has its own art car.
Called the Alpine A110 Sastruga, the art car has been unveiled at the Grand Palais Ephemere in Paris, France, where it will be on display until 10 April 2022. The car has been created in collaboration with art collective 'Obvious', which describes the exterior of the art car as an exploration of the potential of artificial intelligence.
To this effect, the exterior sports an imaginary race track, generated via computers through machine leaning, after studying circuits that have marked the brand's history, ranging from Le Mans to Paul Ricard, Pedralbes, Pescara, Montjuic, Monsanto, Magny-Cours, Long Beach, Losail and Kyalami. The exterior of the art car was then inspired and styled after the Sastrugi phenomenon, which describes the effect of the formation of geometric patterns in the snow when eroded by the wind.
On the back of the Alpine A110 is the mathematical formula for the algorithm with which the collective generated the imaginary Alpine track.
