Cupra has revealed the first details of three new electrified models, all of which are set to join the firm's lineup by 2025.
The three models - the Cupra Terramar, Cupra Tavascan and Cupra UrbanRebel - will come alongside a renewal of the firm's current lineup, all intended to drive sales alongside an expansion of the firm's global network of City Garages.
The Cupra Terramar is said to expand Cupra's plug-in hybrid lineup, although a range of mild hybrid options will also be offered.
The plug-in hybrid variants of the Cupra Terramar are said to be able to offer up to 100km of all-electric range, although Cupra states that its plug-in hybrid cars will still place an emphasis on performance and contemporary sportiness.
The Cupra Terramar is set to be manufactured in Hungary at Audi's Gyor plant, where the Q3 is built, and can be expected to launch in 2024.
Following the Cupra Terramar will be the all-electric Tavascan. This model will sport an all-electric drivetrain, which we are expecting will not be dissimilar to that found in the Volkswagen ID.5 GTX.
Cupra states that the Tavascan will remain faithful design-wise to the 2019 concept car, with its design elements already strongly hinted at in the 2021 Cupra Tavascan Extreme E Concept. Expect that series production Cupra Tavascan to launch come 2024.
And supporting these two SUV will also be the Cupra UrbanRebel all-electric supermini. Expect the Curpa UrbanRebel to take after the design of the previously revealed concept car which shares its name.
Based on Volkswagen's MEB Small Platform, the front-wheel drive, 4,030mm-long Cupra UrbanRebel will feature extensive use of recycled polymers and bio-based materials in its construction.
Cupra has also revealed that the UrbanRebel will sport a 223bhp electric motor, alongside an unspecified battery that will give the car a range of up to 440km. A century sprint time of 6.9 seconds is targeted for the Cupra UrbanRebel.
